A remake of the Korean drama, W: Two Worlds, is in the works at The CW. The genre-bending series premiered in Korea in năm nhâm thìn and only aired for a total of 16 episodes, but was a huge hit during its limited airtime. The series follows the story of a young female surgeon, Oh Yeon-joo (Han Hyo-joo), who is mysteriously transported into the world of a webcomic titled W that is authored and illustrated by her father (Kim Eui-sung).

Inside this world, Yeon-joo meets the handsome young protagonist named Kang Chul (Lee Jong-Suk). As they attempt to navigate themselves out of this distinct reality they find themselves in, the two eventually fall in love after Yeon-joo saves Chul"s life multiple times. W: Two Worlds was a certifiable hit in năm nhâm thìn that was instrumental in making Lee one of Korea"s hottest young actors. Since then, the series has been a prime candidate for an American remake, which is just now coming to fruition.

Deadline reports that The CW network is developing a remake of W: Two Worlds. The series will be known as Angel City in the United States and based on the synopsis that is provided, it sounds lượt thích the remake will adapt an almost identical story, which is not always the case. Angel City is mix to follow a young woman named Jules whose promising career as a surgeon is upended when she is pulled into the world of her father"s graphic novel. There, she meets an "alluring heroine," as opposed to a male protagonist as in the original.

Angel City is being developed by writers Jen Braeden (Love, Victor) và Heather Thomason (Siren) with Happy Endings actor Damon Wayans Jr. On board as one of the producers.
